The easiest way will be to use Organic Groups.
 
Have separate groups for  Vendors and reps. The content could also be different or shared between  both groups.

I have a multi-site Drupal 5.7 installation.

 

I have one site (for vendors) that is currently under construction.

 

In a few weeks, I’ll be doing a similar site (for reps).

 

The base site and design are different for the two.

 

But a lot of the content will be common.

 

Any simple way to post the common content to both sites easily?
