BTW, for backing up the databases using mysqldump, is that something I can execute

from phpmyadmin? I am using a cpanel access to the site. I wasn't seeing that

as a specific application in the cpanel or the database pages.

You should ask you ISP about that - it really depends how you are set up to access MySQL from your account.
