Philip,
To make that disappear, you need to clear the permissions of Toolbar module.
And be sure you are logged in other than anonymous.
I have sort of the opposite problem. When I'm logged out, I still have the
black menu
with just "login" as an option. It used to disappear which is what I want.
My regular users will be
anonymous and I don't want them to see the black menu at all.
It happened when I disabled a module that had a custom menu from last
project.
This client wants superfish.
Thanks.

Clear the cache.
Dear all,
Our drupal site is installed on a remote server.
This afternoon i installed few Drupal modules (internationalization and
variables). After activation of those modules, i noticed that my admin
menu (content/structure/configuration/users,....) had disapeared.
I don't know why. According to you, is there a way to recover the admin
menu?
I'm very annoyed by this problem.
In advance ,thank you very much for your help. --
