First, I have had tons of problems with any WYSIWYG editor in block code; if there is any way to not use an editor there, I would take it.

I assume that you are user/1, or at least an trusted user, so try switching to "Full HTML" or even no filter and see what happens.

Still something is inserting backward slashes  before quotation marks. Any ideas?
