Well, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're trying to see. But I never, ever, use "die" in Drupal; and very rarely "echo."

In D7 to make a form and then show only the result data with no
styling at all (that is the task), I am using

echo $output;
die;

in my form_submit function.

Is that the right way? It works, but I wonder if there's a better way?
