I know there were some bigger changes from 5.0.5 to 5.1.1 and this broke a few things. Drupal 4.7 is in beta now and will be released sometime soon. This will fix the problem.

Also, I found a 7-12% performance increase moving from 5.0.5 to 5.1.1 while runing Drupal 4.7.
