Strange permissions behavior: I'm using Drupal 5.1 and the blog module and events module. Recently, content started disappearing for any user but the administrator. Funny thing was, it wasn't all at once, but gradual - for instance, for awhile only some events would show up. Then none at all. I turned off each of the access permissions one by one to identify which permission was toggling between seeing no content and seeing the content. What I found is that if I have "Access Content" and "Administer nodes" checked in the nodes section, the user can view the content. However, if I have just "Access Content" checked, the user cannot view the content. I want anonymous users, etc to view content, but not to administer it! Any ideas what is going on and how I can repair this? Thanks! Jeff
You might double-check that the nodes in question are in "published" status. On 6/3/07, Jeff Pflueger <jeff@wildernessfringe.com> wrote:

Yes. Thanks for that. I double checked (and just triple checked) this. Also - I thought that maybe there is a conflict with the view module. So I checked here as well to make sure that any views I had created were also "viewable" by all (one does this by leaving all categories unchecked in the view options) Any other ideas? Jonathan D. Has a Rebuild Permissions button
I hit that, and all was better.
I don't see that button, is it added by a module? Earnie

See http://drupal.org/node/147961. If your node_access table isn't polluted by to many entries the button isn't shown. Stefan
Home » Administer » Content management whoever the clever programmers were for the "Rebuild Permissions" button were good. The button shows up only sometimes(after a certain number of days? When something is hosed with the permissions?) once I hit the button, the button disappeared. Earnie Boyd wrote:
