Re: [support] [drupal] HELP - I messed up my site
Thanks for the replies. I am able to get into my site but it is still displaying vertically. I did an update as mentioned by Jamie but everytime I go to another page the 'filename' field data for the 'system' table changes back to pointing to drupal-6.13. I still have configuration problems with my temp file destination but both my php.ini and the admin/settings/file-system show "D:/temp" I have tried it with back slashes and with forward slashes and I still have the same problem. If I remove the drupal-6.13 from the sites/all/modules then I get the error on line 346. I am able to access the info and here is a copy of my status report and it thinks that I am running drupal-6.13 ============================================ [image: Water is Life]Water is Life<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/> - Home <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/> - PeopleSoft<http://squid1.sdcwa.org:8061/psp/prprod/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/?cmd=login> - Helpdesk <http://eel/helpdesk> - SDCWA <http://www.sdcwa.org/> Search this site: admin - My account <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/user/1> - Upcoming Events<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/calendar> - Create content<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/node/add> - Frequently Asked Questions<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/faq> - Recent posts<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/tracker> - Feed aggregator<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/aggregator> - Administer <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin> - Content management<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/content> - Site building<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/build> - Site configuration<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/settings> - User management<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/user> - Reports<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports> - Recent log entries<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/dblog> - Top 'access denied' errors<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/access-denied> - Top 'page not found' errors<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/page-not-found> - Top search phrases<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/search> - Available updates<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/updates> - Status report<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports/status> - Advanced help<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/advanced_help> - Example help<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/help_example> - Help <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/help> - Log out <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/logout> Home <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/> › Administer<http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin>› Reports <http://milhouse2.sdcwa.org:8999/nestor/scroller612/admin/reports> Status report - The selected file *D:\temp\fil471.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. - The selected file *D:\temp\fil474.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. - The selected file *D:\temp\fil475.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. - The selected file *D:\temp\fil47A.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. - The selected file *D:\temp\fil47B.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. I was ready to present my site to the boss when I decided to add lightbox2 and get fancy after I added lightbox2 every link in the page made lightbox go into action (do not know how). I am using drupal-6.12, when I removed the lightbox2 module without disabling it first, things stopped working.
put the lightbox2 module back in the sites/all/modules directory go to admin/build/modules and disable it go to admin/build/modules/uninstall and uninstall the module, this will (or should) remove the cruft from the DB then you can safely remove the module's directory
Also, somehow I got the drupal-6.13 folder inside my sites/all/modules, if I remove the drupal-6.13 folder from the sites/all/modules then I get this error when I try to access: Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'sites/all/modules/drupal-6. 13/modules/user/user.pages.inc' (include_path='.;D:\php;D:\php\includes') in D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\root\nestor\scroller612\includes\menu.inc on line 346
Because of your particular situation, I would move everything in your sites directory to a temporary folder, then delete everything else, then unzip the latest Drupal into a temporary directory and copy all it's contents into your webroot or whatever sub you have it in and copy your sites backup back to the sites folder. Then go to admin/reports/status to check if you need to update any modules and update them (especially if there is a security update available). Then log into the admin account ( I hope you've set up a separate account to work in regularly) and run updates (www.mysite.com/update.php).
My site had a layout of left, middle and right but now the whole site is vertical and the newsflash theme does not appear.
Have you modified the newsflash theme heavily? Or was there a change you made a while before it failed? Drupal has caches for most everything so sometimes a change to a theme will not show until you clear the caches or refresh the "theme registry".
I also get this message in every page: * The selected file D:\temp\filBD.tmp could not be uploaded, because the destination is not properly configured. * The selected file D:\temp\filBF.tmp could not be uploaded, because the destination is not properly configured.
When you go to admin/settings/file-system, does the temporary directory match the upload_tmp_dir setting in php.ini
My suckerfish menu shows vertical instead of being in one row
Have you tried using the nice_menus module, for the most part it does the same thing
All of the pages info is there is just displaying vertically.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Néstor

Well, things are looking better. I can see my site the way it is suppose to display...hooray... How was it fix? I do not know but here are my steps: 1) turn off the MySQL database 2) Loaded the entire backup directory Mysql 5 0 ( this contains all the files) 3) Loaded the backup for my drupal-6.12 folder (it still has the drupal-6.13 as part of the site/all/modules - I do not know how to get rid of it.) 4) Before viewing the site I did the replace command on the field 'filename' that belongs to the 'system' table 5) Restarted the MySQL db 6) Restarted the apache webserver Voila!!...is working!!! Now I just need to figured out how to make the system not include the drupal-6.13 Thanks to all of you for your help. I am 90% of where I was a week ago and I have a week to catch up to where I was. Presuming you are on a Linux/Unix box... As root - cd <your path to drupal-6.13> and type the following: rm -fr drupal-6.13 All this does is recursively delete the contents of the directory.
I am still having the problem that it complains about the upload_tmp_dir D:\temp the first time I go to the web site but then after that it does not shows it. This is running on a windows 2003 host and apache server. I know my way around Linux than Windows. No when Drupal gives the error: The selected file *D:\temp\fil471.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. Is Drupal complaining that it can not write the file or that it can not read the file? Thanks, Nestor :-) On Fri, Sep 11, 2009 at 1:15 PM, Néstor <rotsen@gmail.com> wrote:

After recovering my site I did a mysqldump to be able to recover easier. So decided to create a duplicate wite using the MySQL dump I go into mysql and create a database 'newsite' I read in the SQL file into the 'newsite' database I copied my scroller612 folder to newsite folder but when I go to see the 'newsite' apges, then it shows vertically. Is it that you can not recover from a mysqldump? :-(
I meant to say 'site' instead of 'wite' And my question Is it that you can not recover from a mysqldump? should be Is it that you can not recover an INNODB databse using a mysqldump.sql file? Thanks :-) On Fri, Sep 11, 2009 at 2:21 PM, Néstor <rotsen@gmail.com> wrote:

I may be wrong about this, but I don't think the mysqldump has create statements in it. So - it can't restore tables if the table spaces don't exist. I usually use phpmyadmin or mysql to create a backup of a table and ask this to include create statements. Then when I create an empty database, I just use copy the sql file completely into the sql command box. Not sure if this helps much. I'm not sure how to use the mysqldump without having to manually create the tables. -Tina Néstor wrote:

I actualy did a dump using phpmyadmin and when read in the file, the site was messed up. I am wondring if there is another way to do a dump for INNODB files. The mysql system admin tools 1.1 has a tool that allows you to set up things and one of them is for backing up the database. I just do nto how to run it. I need to read about. Thanks for the help and replies. Néstor :-) On Fri, Sep 11, 2009 at 6:06 PM, Tina Callahan <tina.callahan@udel.edu>wrote:

Just wanted to let you guys know that I found out why my site was displaying vertically. It had to do with the error messages: The selected file *D:\temp\fil471.tmp* could not be uploaded, because the destination ** is not properly configured. When I go to the admin/settings/file-system there is a choice to read your temp files Public or Private I do not know how but it was set to public. I changed this to Private and the site is displaying the way I created it. Now I just need to find a way to remove dupal-6.13 from withing the sites/all/modules without making the site fail. When I removed the drupal-6.13 from the sites/all/modules then I get that famous error 346 Thanks again, Nestor :-) On Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 11:20 AM, Néstor <rotsen@gmail.com> wrote:
