Is there a tool people use to handle mailing lists, including tracking etc? I see there is a massmailer module to integrate with PHPList, but it has no releases. :( The site in question is Drupal 5. Thanks.
If you setup a mailman instance you can utilize the mailman module. drupal.org/project/mailman_manage This may take care of your needs? Fred Jones wrote:

I don't think Simplenews does tracking (like how may opens, clickthroughs, etc.). If you want real tracking you might want to look for a service like Campaing Monitor. You will probably have better luck getting delivery of email. There is a Campaign Monitor integration module: http://drupal.org/project/campaignmonitor MailChimp is another option: http://drupal.org/project/mailchimp Craig Jackson wrote:

This is probably heresy but I'm just about to implement http://dadamailproject.com/ alongside a Drupal site. It's very slick, comes in free and paid flavours and the author offers an installation service too. It may not suit but the site's worth a visit just to read about the project. -- Best regards, William mailto:thejanitor@fastmail.fm Flying with The Bat! Hello Fred,
Hi.

alongside a Drupal site.
Shouldn't be heresy. One of my clients uses a third party service and I wrote some module code to API his email list (every cron run) to that third party site. For this new job, that service isn't suitable. Thanks.

It could be great. so, installing this tool, and, having a module that supports it in drupal, it should be possible to have a complete mailing list system without using other program.I'll use it when it will be ready. Not all shared hosting give access to mailman or similar. Thanks.

You might consider: http://drupal.org/project/convey http://drupal.org/project/mailhandler Convey tauts the ability to create a mail list without any other software. It depends on mailhandler. Earnie -- http://for-my-kids.com/ -- http://give-me-an-offer.com/
