I used MAMP all the time. Following some online tutorials/classes they use Acquia I give it a try. It’s Drupal friendly, right? :-D So, it looks ok to me, specially how it manages multiple sites and the import looks much easier. Though, it also looks to me as a addition, link in the Drupal chain that has to be maintained, right? Any thoughts?
