We've put a lot of work into the audio module ahead of the 4.7
release. I think you'll find that it meets most of your needs. The one
big oustanding feature request is to allow off-site hosting, i.e. the
same way the video module will allow you to play a video off of
youtube. Farsheed, the maintainer of the playlist module, has done
some work that may make such support unnecessary

As far as I know, the media module is unsupported, most people have
moved to the audio and video modules.
