Yes, and that includes issues related to how consultants can best do
their work.

Not every developer works with only one language, and not every
consultant limits themselves to a single tool for every job.

It is fully appropriate here to discuss awareness of Drupal's strengths
as well as its limitations. The list is here to serve the interests of
consultants, not cheerleaders or Drupal developers, as the groups'
agendas are different. Not every consultant working with Drupal does so
because it's the best tool for _every_ job.

(I for one am curious about this concept of this "admin area" Bèr speaks
about -- I personally would like to know more about the difference
between what Bèr describes and the admin/ section of a Drupal site.
Perhaps an understanding of the distinction may eventually help improve
Drupal's operation or suitability to certain tasks -- oblivion or
counter-attack are not helpful elements of progress.)

No it's not, if intended to address a larger issue of "what strategy is
best for consultants who work with Drupal". Nowhere have I seen any
restriction that this list is only for consultants who work
_exclusively_ with Drupal.

Good for you. If you have a threaded mail reader then bypassing this or
any thread is easy.

IMO this list needs an approciation that different people are here to
learn different things, but that there are some common goals. So far as
I can tell, the goals here relate to the needs of consultants, not the
direct promotion of Drupal (beyond that which serves the needs of
consultants). What this list does not need is appropriateness police. So
long as people are avoiding personal insult and profanity, while
attempting to improve the skills (not to mention competitiveness) of
"consultants who use Drupal" -- as most of us are -- I see nothing
wrong with these discussions.
