Hello list people,
I'm a new kid on this list and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name
is Sean Effel, I'm a public access television person as well as a Drupal
site developer for a few years now. And I'm now trying something new.
I've been teaching technology classes for a long time, digital media
production, web streaming, digital distribution, etc, but I've just added
Drupal training to that list. In access I get lots of requests for
training, and lately for Drupal. This is what we do in public access, help
people grasp and utilize new technologies. Seems like many people can pick
up Drupal skills just by jumping in, but I've worked in a realm where the
basic ability to learn new technology is a challenge in itself. So a few
meetings later we had a built a new Drupal training program at our
organization for Drupal end users and admins. Its been successful and so I
thought I would strike out in that direction myself and offer training
programs of my own.
I find there just isn't an ideal mailing list category in which to talk
about training but I know the interest is out there. The drupalcon list is
not quite right even though its the only list with an indication of getting
together around something in person, and the support list isn't quite right
either. Maybe this consulting one is a more appropriate environment to talk
about it.
So anyway, I hope to contribute here as best I can, and hope also to get my
name out as a moderately experienced Drupal trainer. Look me up on the
forums (seaneffel) and please to peek at my training site if you are
curious. The first of my trainings is in San Francisco in July.
So thanks for letting me introduce myself, nice to meet you, and see you
around.
