[consulting] Using drupal 6 Search box

When using the drupal search box (search module activate, activate search
block, etc). What needs to be set to allow a search of a partial word?

Ex: a search of missions gets the results of all pages that contain mission

However

mission gets no results because it's not used in the site (how do I get it
to pull up missions since it is only one letter off.. The advanced search
options also don't do anything for this.. Neither does "mission")
