[consulting] multisite with single userbase

Hello All,

I have a client who has a Drupal 6 installation and they want to develop 
a new site, preferably in Drupal 7, which shares the user base. No need 
for single sign-on at the moment, but at least single user base. I've 
found many outdated articles on this issue, but nothing recent or solid. 
So I thought I'd check with you guys on this.
