So chx (Josh: Karoly Negyesi, another of Drupal's top developers) just gave 
the code a whirl with Postgres 8.1 and PHP 5.2.x (I think 5.2.3) and got a 
white screen of death in the same place, so it sounds like it's not just me.  
Bah!
