Unified diff. Submit as a project issue for the specific project (do not 
post on the ML :)

You can get the API module, and run the indexer yourself.

No, it is too much of a hassle. Quite a few of us use SVN for other 
projects, but Drupal is so tied to CVS now (supporting scripts, project 
and ML integration, etc), that it is quite painful to migrate to SVN now.
