- I'd like to impose a restriction on the maximum length of a news
item. Often the "Drupal talk" page (now disabled) gets messed up
because some items are really long.
- I'd like to see both the filter mechanism and the menu-structure
reorganized. Take a look at the news_page module for ideas; IMO it
has better filtering functionality and better navigation (regardless
the weird feeds as nodes concept).
- I'd like to be able to edit or delete individual news items. When
using "aggregate feeds" like those from Feedster or Pubsub you end up
with duplicate and unwanted news items. Also, RSS spam has been a
problem before on drupal.org. Being able to delete or edit these
without having to use the MySQL command line would be really useful.
- I'd like to export filtered feeds using RSS. Like that, someone
can combine feeds, filter them, and in turn make them available to
others.
