After updating of a drupal 4.5.1 site to 4.5.2, tracker module was no
longer functioning as expected.
A comparison of file sizes between versions revealed that in 4.5.1
tracker.module is 4166 bytes, while in 4.5.2 tracker module is 4204
bytes.
While a change in size between versions is not the safest method to
base decisions upon, copying the tracker module from 4.5.1 to 4.5.2
rectified the problem
