I think the other patch will get committed, but if it gets closed I'll
update this one.

This patch alphabetizes the variables in several arrays that get passed
to tpl.php files. This makes it easier to find variables when scanning
the code, and since documentation is also written based on the code, it
makes the documentation likely to also be in alphabetical order. 

Note that this patch includes the cumulative fixes from these issues:
