[drupal-devel] Oracle acquires InnoBase, makers of InnoDB engine for MySQL

This is quite a surprise.

MySQL transactions, and referential integrity all relied on InnoDB.
Now there are doubts if that will continue.

It it true that the InnoDB code is GPL, but the brains behind it will
now belong to Oracle.

Unless someone (MySQL?) is able to rally a community around GPL
InnoDB, there may be serious implications for the future.
