Patch applies, but needs more work IMHO. The "Submitted by" link is
still there if the user is blocked. The same is true for the content
list in "admin/node", the link to disabled users is still there. There
are probably more occurences...

a blocked user has a regular profile link issued by theme('username').
the problem is that if you follow the link, you get 'page not found'
error.

In which way would a fix be desirable: a) not display a link b) make
profile display work?

a) - one of the main reasons for blocking a user is that they post
inappropriate content in their profile
