[drupal-devel] [drupal-dev] default module paths

I'm curious: how are default module paths assigned? I checked all the 
database tables that I thought would have this information but I can't find 
anything.

Specifically, I'm wondering how the Event module is setup at 
$base_url/event/foo/bar by default; I'd like to change this.
