[development] welcome message for each install profile

With different install profiles, we're going to want customized welcome 
messages beyond the default one currently in node.module. A suggested 
approach (patch): http://drupal.org/node/79582. This picks up on the recent 
work putting each install profile in its own directory and registering the 
installed profile through a variable. Reviews appreciated.
