Morbus, I wasn't aware of this change, but I reckin' it makes a lot of 
sense. So for feeds that are currently written like:
--taxonomy/term/1/0/feed

would the new version be:
--taxonomy/term/1/0/rss.xml

?

I'll be of course writing this for 4.7 and not 4.6.
