I was not referring to gatekeeper as in 'let patches in or not'. That, I know, 
is done very well!! 

But as in:
 "Sorry folks, but CCK is a too big task to get into 4.8. Especially now that 
FooBar has put development upside down. Please do not pursue this goal of 
getting CCK in, and rather focus on getting FooBar stable. We can see if CCK 
might make it in afterwards".

That kind of gatekeeping.
