[development] Hook access confusion?

What I want to achieve is simple: 
 Allow full CRUD permissions for certain node types. (Create Read Update 
Delete).

The problem is, that not all modules seem to respect the view part (is that 
true?) when it comes to listings and so. 
Another issue I am concerned about is the search indexing. 

so: Did anyone ever get secure CRUD permissions built in? Is there a manual 
that I should have read? Or is this simply a missing feature in core?
