On the contrary, I see a large degree of sameness, yes there are differences
if you look closely, but they are all basically the same. What core needs is
several radically different themes. It is relatively easy to tweak something
to something that is close to the same. It is hard to make more radical
changes, especially those of us who are not graphic artists. 

The sameness goes beyond the blueness, I agree with that as a branding
issue. It is easy to change to other colors.

Yes it is too late to get them in a first beta because they don't exist
anywhere yet.
