The question is:

"So do you think extending MySite to have a friends' recent activity
would make sense? I haven't used MySite at all so don't really know if
this would fit or not as I'll want to track other actions like
friendships, donations, etc."

The answer is yes, but it's the How that we'd need to explore.  You might
want to send me a note off-list, or open an issue against the MySite module.

Relevant questions:

- How are you tracking "friendship" now?
- What friend actions need to be reported back to the MySite panel?

If you go down the wathdog_user, path,  MySite integration might actually
become easier, since we'd simply write an include to handle the reporting of
that data.
