[development] Creating different front pages

Hi everybody,

I am newbie on Drupal and I would like to know how can i do to create
different templates for each section of my website.

I need a portal-like homepage, a bloglike template for each section and a
simple article template for each content.
Is there a simple way to do that? Do you have any tuto?
The very best help would be the source code of theonion.com ... ;) Or
something similar.
