Hi folks,
I never should have doubted the clear instructions written at the top
of the Drupal services page http://drupal.org/drupal-services
In anycase, I saw the 'Add child page' links and figured either there
was a permissions issue (having this chapter of the book module be
moderated) or the instructions were incorrect. Either way I had to
check.
so I added this node (which was so ever briefly visible -- till I got
moderated):

Please let me know if you have any questions. I am subscribed to
this list, but haven't had the time to read it lately, so please cc
my email if you have any questions. If I am accepted, I am assuming
I can edit the page in the future and wouldn't need to verify changes
with a site maintainer.
