[as a relatively long-time drupal user and recent deployer on several websites]

I would agree that Drupal.org should start distributing at least one
additional distribution
(aside from bare bones core system) which would be filled with some
default content
and most basic website parameters set (targeting novice users,
bloggers included),
that way it would show by example this important option and also solve
issue of serving
some of the blogging-enthusiasts who did not dived deep enough in
Drupal to do it on their own.
