I've got a patch, but i wanna rethink it. it takes the beauty and
elegance in there and poops arrays all over it.

There are other issues in the D5 -> D6 upgrade path.

Who is testing upgrades against pg8.0?? I'll do pg8 tests too but i've
put it at the end of my todo list for now, while resolving 7.4 problems.
Which is more important to the project right now?
