I do this on a weekly basis: submit pre-written node content (among
other things) to various Drupal sites.  For me, these Drupal sites
happen to be part of my development environment (local, dev, test,
prod).  No drupal module installation required.

I do it with Selenium.  http://seleniumhq.org/
