[development] Scalable Internal Activity Stream Module

Activity module was created for just this purpose.
http://drupal.org/project/activity

It doesn't utilize the node system, however, and therefor you can't comment
upon recorded activity, which was part of your request.

I also have heard that you can have this sort of functionality with
workflow-ng in D5, but again, not sure that you can comment on activity
there either. Just throwing some ideas out there for ya. Would love to hear
what you eventually decide upon!
