There are UNSTABLE tags for HEAD. Angie announces them here regularly so if you are using this list then you know about them. Check one out, port a module. No need to chase HEAD. By the time the code freeze comes, we can port drupal.org to D7 if this happens, write the missing tests and release in two months. We just need people not to waste their and others time on this list but crack open the editor and get coding. There are countless advantages to this even if you need to do a bit of work to port from UNSTABLE-5 to the next version, if you need arguments, just read the original issue. http://drupal.org/node/190901
