[development] Accesslog and Node_counter

3 thoughts.

   1. Are you using a CDN like akamai?
   2. I'm not sure if {node_counter} is tied to a cron run in
   statistics.module. If it is the 'discard access logs older than' might be
   the cause of your problem.
   3. Why not use Google Analytics or webalizer or similar?
