[development] D7 notifications module... status?

"Real" drupal developers have abandoned this list for many reasons,
including excessive scolding over picayune details.

Enough already.

Domenic's question was one I had been asking myself a day or two before he
posted it to the list. We had been contemplating some development around
this module in D7.
