We talked about this in Portland as well (sorry I missed you, Djun).
I think a comprehensive English book on using Drupal that has a
section on different kinds of sites would work well. Other topics
include:
* the Drupal.org community
* developing with Drupal -- as web framework, basics of modules,
vertical (new content type) vs. horizontal (new fields a la event,
location) extensibility
* theming Drupal, the theme layer, overriding themes
* overview of core modules, some key contrib ones
There is a lot of material to be covered, and sounds like lots of
interest in this. Dries has pretty much a standing offer to write a
book, but no time himself to pull together the entire thing. You
might consider collaborating with him and some others.
