The ToS actually forbids you from sharing this data in detail, I
believe. Also, I would skip the ad-focus and instead just look at SEO
in general. It's not by accident that I'm the #1 hit for "Easy Tomato
Salad" :P
My traffic on my bmannconsulting.com site is about 30K ad impressions
(roughly translates to uniques) per month. I get between $50 - $200/
month. NOTE -- if you write about fluffy bears, you will get no ad
revenue. I write a lot about VoIP, which has high rates.
Stand alone ad serving engine -- e.g. banner module? phpAdNew is a
bear to configure. Only do this if you need intense stats and turn-
key ad sales.
do-it-yourself: must have existing high traffic and/or tight ties to
community that will want to sponsor in the form of ads. Can take a
lot of time, but potentially high margin. Could again use
banner.module, perhaps with a purchase_banners helper module that
ties into the ecommerce framework.
(And this would be appropriate for a new drupal-consultants list, I
think)
