I took a quick look at your case study, and I think it looks great! I think
it would be most visible to newbies under the Installation handbook. Either
directly as a child page - "Walkthrough: Configuring Drupal for Media" or
under a "Walkthroughs - Step by Step Installation guides for Different
Applications."
A couple of suggestions -
1) With each navigation tab, it may be helpful to also indicate the direct
url address. For example:
NAVIGATION: administer >> access control >> "roles" tab
(or directly: /admin/access/roles)
I know sometimes it was hard for me to figure out how to navigate through
the different >>. Maybe it was because sometimes people didn't type in the
correct thing.
2) Maybe you could explain a couple of basic premises in the beginning, like
what does "NAVIGATION:" mean? Where do we find that? Maybe a simple
statement like: In this tutorial, I will be using some basic terms to help
clarify how the steps of the tutorial. "NAVIGATION:" will tell you how to
accomplish a step by navigating through menu items to get where you want.
Once you have logged in as a user, the navigation menu will display as a
sidebar block titled with your log in ID. This sidebar will initially be on
the left, but you can change its placement. There will be more on this
later.
3) Under download and install the following modules from drupal.org, can you
give the navigation of web address on Drupal.org?
4)What does this mean? I'm not totally new to drupal, and I don't get it.
"admin, login or logout is inserted automatically in page.tpl.php using this
code (placed in the primary links): ..."
5)Under block Configuration, I think the description there is too brief.
Unless your drupal version looks different from mine, there are a lot of
steps to accomplish what you're written.
OK, well, here are just a couple of suggestions in my brief look. :)
