For now we indeed have to do this manually, but we could discuss installing 
node_aggregator on drupal.org (after I fix it, that is ;)), and use RDF to 
import external manuals etc in a separate book. 
I would say in a book "external resources". There we can track feeds of 
possible interesting external resources.
