Hi, I have been in contact with Bob Goodman from www.uxnet.org. He
was advising me regarding labeling for Drupal. He has agreed to
spend 1 hour in IRC discussing labeling for Drupal. Bob is a new Dad
so his time is especially precious right now.

Dries, Charlie et. al, please advise on your availability.

I am attaching a note Bob sent me regarding labeling when this
discussion

Cheers,
Kieran

Hi, Kieran.

Terminology is often a hard issue since language itself is so
flexible and
open to differnet interpretations. I have done in-person "Listening
Labs"
one on one with users to test different terms as well as have users
try and
"treasure hunt" through a directory with nothing more than high-level
categories to go on.

I understand that CivicSpace is looking for distributed testing
models. I
wonder if you might be able to create an online survey for some of your
target users (or you could send them an interactive PDF to fill out
and send
back...) I am thinking of a question along these lines:

You are hoping to add functionality to your CivicSpace community to let
users create an online calendar. Under which section name would you
be most
likely to look?

A. Functions
B. Applications
C. Features
D. Modules
E. Nodes
F. Widgets
D. Tools

In the absence of specific user input, I would simply try to survey the
landscape to see what other external "language context" or "language
standards" you can leverage, in both OSS and the commercial realm.
