IHMO, these first two sentences, with just a couple of minor changes,
would be better than the current text on the Drupal home page:
"Drupal is an open source content management system built around social
software and community management principles. It has a flexibile,
modular approach to features and functionality, allowing users to build
everything from a simple weblog to traditional corporate websites, to
large multi-user systems that include social networking tools."
I added "open source" (for obvious reasons) and "simple weblog" because
it's good to make it clear that it can be used for more just than the
needs of a large organization or community. The individual user/site
owner with small purposes needs to be pitched here, too.
