Hi Liza:
Drupal is just as "easy" as those other systems you mention. In fact,
PHP Template, the Drupal template language
Bryght (Bryght is hosted Drupal) supports is more flexible and easier
than those other systems.
Instead of you figuring out how to pound your design through the
square pegs that the starting point that the templating language
defines, with PHP Template you basically
use your CSS/HTML design as a starting point and put the PHP Template
stuff in, in other words reversed from the systems you are used to.
I've written an intro at:
http://support.bryght.com/articles/converting-css-html-design-
phptemplate-introduction
And I agree that:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Designing_Headers
is fantastic
This is one of the best practices that I will be converting to Drupal
as part of my role as "Drupal Docs Best Practices Coordinator" (along
with Kieran)
If anybody has some best practices that they would like converted
from WordPress (or any other system) or that they feel "Drupal should
have one of those" or if somebody wants to write a best practice,
please let us know on drupal.org or on this list!
Cheers!
