Oh good, someone else is doing that one. <whew>.
As one of the other Drupal Docs Best Practices guys, I hope to add some 'planning and site design' type stuff more towards site structure and setup. Before you begin things to consider, etc. A lot of it is basic, but trying to help the new foks to Drupal consider more of the posibilities of the CMS structure. Even then, sometimes people forget to 'plan' their site and if they are new to Drupal, they may not know how.
Also, while I like Bryghts 'Coporate brochere in an hour' and got some ideas from it that I had not considered before, I have another approach that I use for mine that I will be writing up as well. I think that having mutliple approaches to similier goals will showcase Drupal's flexibility and show how planning is important.

Hi Liza:
<snip>
And I agree that:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Designing_Headers
is fantastic
This is one of the best practices that I will be converting to Drupal
as part of my role as "Drupal Docs Best Practices Coordinator" (along
with Kieran)
If anybody has some best practices that they would like converted
from WordPress (or any other system) or that they feel "Drupal should
have one of those" or if somebody wants to write a best practice,
please let us know on drupal.org or on this list!
Cheers!
