Hey Boris,
Flash Comm is a little different than Laszlo. Laszlo is more akin to Flex -
which is a language (xml + ecmascript) for creating 'rich-internet
applications' - although Laszlo does provide direct proxy with the server
for data exchange. Flash Comm is more of a multi-user chat, audio/video
server. There are a number of free and open socket servers available, but
none so far that provide the audio/video support that FlashComm does.
I believe Canter was on about urging someone to create a free and open
alternative to Flash Comm. Would be a very interesting addition in the
'social app' space.
Cheers,
Bryan Rieger
