It is more feasible to use SER or Asterix, they enable VOIP, and I think
have conferencing as well, they are open-source and have been around for
some time/used a lot.

For video-conferencing it will be hard - enormous CPU drainer if the
mixing is done in a single point, the other option is to use reflectors,
similar to the architecture of VRVS. I've done some research into these
for some of the projects I'm involved with, if you are interested, I
can dig out my summaries, and send them off list.

For conference call like functionality SER can be tried, it is not hard
to install and configure, we can access the stats from drupal, with very
little code. (it is in my very long term pipeline actually). The only
other thing needed will be a SRV record in DNS.
