Installing LaTeX on MacOS takes two steps:

   1. Install Fink: http://fink.sf.net/.
   2. apt-get install tetex

To generate a PDF, follow these steps:

   1. Download http://buytaert.net/temporary/handbook.tex (dummy book).
   2. Open a terminal window.
   3. Change directory to the directory you saved handbook.tex in.
   4. Type 'pdflatex handbook.tex' (without quotes).
   5. Open 'handbook.pdf' using Finder.
