The IXR library is object oriented code, what got into Drupal is rewritten  
in a procedural notation. I consider this a lot more than mere integration  
-- maybe not a total rewrite, but almost. Integration IMO was changing  
core and contrib modules to use the library which in itself was not a big  
deal.

This reads stupid -- Dries came to help on Dries' call? Someone please  
reword.
